Watching the Paint Dry.

Scott was busy on the weekend priming and painting, sore back and all. The living room and kitchen are done. The dining room, entry and stairs are waiting for Scott's back to get better! We were over to Truro today and picked out all of our mouldings and trim at Vintage Mouldings and what beautiful stuff they have over there - well worth the trip! Mike is coming back down tomorrow to touch up some of the drywall.

Time to paint!

The drywalling is done - it took longer than expected but I guess that is to be expected ;o) Mike did a great job and we are so ready to paint. Home Depot called last week and said that they would be here to install the kitchen in the next two weeks. It's looking like we could be in out new digs by mid September.

Drywalling is the name of the game this week, we are optimistic that we will be able to prime on the weekend and I am being even more optimistic by going and getting paint chips tonight. Just about time to make a final decision on the paint colors.
Filler was put in at the bottom of the stairs to make a smoother look on the curved edge.

Gyproc is up! Let's go muddin'

Here is Jason putting the last screw into the last piece of drywall - another milestone in progress! Pictures below are views of the reno now with gyproc.

This is a hole in the ceiling that will have a floor grate on it upstairs to allow heat from the pellet stove to move to the 2nd floor.

Looking from the dining room towards the kitchen, the doorway will be a closet with access to the hot water tank and sewer clean out.

Here is my little destructo Sami when we were opening up the door that was at the top of the stairs to make it into a wider access. Does she live for wreckin' stuff or what?

Mike and Jason did a great job matching the stairs up and filling them in.

We are leaving the stone on the flue exposed in the kitchen, this will be the backdrop for the stove.

The Kitchen is now dry walled, and the front part of the living room. We had to take a day and fix a leak on the front of the house that was bringing water into the front! Good thing we found out about it now.
For those that are wondering about the pretty turquoise blue gyproc - that it water and mildew resistant gyproc. We are using it on all the exterior walls as a part of our extensive 'no water is gettin' in here' tactical plan.

Here is our pellet stove, we finally got to 'unwrap' it because the installer was here on Monday. He had made it sound so critical that he needed to be here to install it before the ceiling went up so we had him in and all he did was make a hole for the pipe...and said he'll come back and do the rest when we are almost done...what?

I guess the big news is that the dining room is gyproc'd (is that a word?) and the boys are at it again this morning. We could get the call that the kitchen is ready anytime - so we gotta keep movin'.

The hole in the bathroom is filled back in and another crisis averted....

The guy is coimg to install (or rough in) for the pellet stove today - so that should be good for a mess ;o)
