Curing...

For the last week or so we have been letting the cement cure. We noticed some spots that are still letting water in along the wall because of the heavy rain we have been having so Jason has repointed those spots.

On Saturday we had a load of 220 2x4's delivered in inticipation of the framing beginning as we have the kitchen guy coming on friday to take measurements!

Today we had our other window put in. That had been put off because of some electrics that needed to be moved. It looks great.

Pour the Floor!

All ready to go!

Well, over the last week we have had Mike and Jason in the basement pouring the floor. It has been tedious as they chose to do it by hand (we are the proud owners of a cement mixer now!) and getting it level was tricky. We also have put in drains along the walls so that any moisture will go into the weeping tile. They just finished this evening and it looks great!
The last pour!
Money in the wet cement for good luck!

New Addition

During all this commotion we have made an addition to our family, a little girl we have been waiting a long time for - Zoe, our Bernese Mountain Dog pup came to us from Quebec. I flew to Montreal and then drover 1.5 hours to Ayers Cliff (near Vermont)to get her and meet her family on the 5th of June and we flew home on the 6th. She was fantastic during the whole trip and ever since. She was definitely meant to live with us and we love her to death! Here are a few pics of our princess!

The Gravel is down

Here are some shots of the floor after the plumber work was all done and just before we started pouring concrete. The first is looking into the dining room and the other is looking into the living room.
